What's been done - And what has not.
Since I don’t own a garage where I can work on the car, it’s always a challenge to have the car rolling during the entire summer season. What I do have, is a job at a car dealership where I can work on the car after hours. And with that I also have a bunch of pretty awesome co-workers to ask for help when it’s needed.
So with their help I got the car through inspection eventually, even though they didn’t like the headlights, the lowering, the exhaust or the noise.
The mods of 2022
The Piazza then got a proper big service with new belts and pulleys. Also managed to enhance the black paint on the valve hood. I have now decided to go all purple on the valve cover – But that’s a future project.
Changed the ignition cables, distributor cap, spark plugs and fuel filter as well to see if the engine would run smoother, but it didn’t.
Big thanks to Clive at IPTOC for providing me the right parts!
Finally got the new adjustable Spax shock absorbers installed in the front! Back installation is still on the to-do list though.
Carried on with the wiper arms, resprayed them and converted them to hook mounts to be able to buy them anywhere.
Managed to install a set of Japan-imported Bomex horns for that look only!
Installed Veilside shift knob, TRUST 4 point belts and a Raid steering wheel that I found in the boxes in my storage!
Then the day just before Japdays I finally found and changed the weatherstrip for the sunroof! Wohoo!
I also got featured in Swedens biggest magazine for custom cars!
Next big project - Brake conversion
I have finally decided to keep my original 4-lug setting and not convert it to 5-lug because of the issues with new wheels up front.
Front brakes will be from a Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T.
So I have now left my rotors to a company to get them redrilled to 4×100, refurbished and painted. The calipers I’ll take care of myself, and the restoration and prepping for painting has begun! Color? Midnight Purple!
